Information Literacy Program 

Research is an important process of scientific inquiry. It involves finding, using, synthesizing, and managing information to make it meaningful and writing and disseminating the results in an ethical and responsible way.

This module intends to help students to develop the skills relevant in conducting research and encourage the use of library resources and tools in research. It is composed of 2 parts.


In Part 1, students would be able to:

  • identify different sources of information
  • recognize the characteristics of good quality sources
  • identify the different forms of information disorder
  • apply the strategies in searching information using a scholarly database
  • analyze the truthfulness of statements through fact-checking
  • assess the quality of sources for research

 

In Part 2, students would be able to:

  • identify ways on how to prevent plagiarism
  • use Mendeley Institutional Edition to manage references
